His first works appeared in the streets of Perugia, Rome and Milan. ALO has subsequently expanded his activity to the rest of Europe with street pieces and gallery exhibitions all over London, Berlin and Paris.〔http://www.aloart.org/p/walls.html〕 == Urban Expressionism == Although it may seem contradictory, ALO is a “street art painter” and he describes his style as “Urban Expressionism”. He adapted his indoor techniques, mainly acrylic based, to the outdoor surfaces. The use of brushes and markers determines the striped pixelated look of his portraits which deliver a strong sense of loss and defeat. The bright palette of mostly primary colours chosen for the backgrounds defines the emotional range of each artwork. ALO’s outdoor pieces are slowly processed; the work is conceived through many phases of preparation of the surface and the details are carefully layered.
